Wednesday - Flying Wing Competition
Students will work in teams of four to design and perfect flying cardboard wings based on NASA's design activity. By the end of the daily challenge, each group will submit their final competition wing to their teachers who will store the final designs in the large presentation room.
Thursday, each group will do a single flight of their wing. On-course distances will be added and off-course distances will be subtracted. Whichever team has the farthest distance will be declared the winner.
* The final design must be recognizable as a wing - not a plane. It must be made out of a single piece of cardboard (students can "skin" their wing with printer paper).
